Outtrain began with a simple but powerful idea: to unite the fitness communities of Cambridgeshire through the shared energy of functional fitness competition. What started as an event to bring people together soon grew into something much greater: a movement encouraging connection, inclusivity, and wellbeing.
Over time, Outtrain evolved beyond competition. The focus shifted toward creating a space where fitness could be accessible, enjoyable, and personal; a community where every individual, regardless of experience, could train and feel supported. Expert coaching, small group sessions, and a commitment to high standards became the foundation of Outtrain’s approach. The result is a safe, welcoming environment where functional fitness is not just about performance, but about long-term health and happiness.
Outtrain’s journey has taken it far beyond Cambridgeshire, partnering with like-minded fitness communities across London, Manchester, Dublin, and Edinburgh.
Outtrain: From Competition to Community
In 2025, Outtrain took the next step in its evolution, establishing a dedicated gym space to provide consistency, community, and a home for its growing members. That vision continues to grow. Outtrain now has an exciting new partnership with Cambridge Rugby Club, and it's gym space has relocated to the rugby club grounds on Grantchester Road. This partnership represents the next chapter in Outtrain’s journey, bringing together strength, community, and a shared commitment to performance and wellbeing.
Today, Outtrain stands as a holistic fitness and wellbeing hub, balancing performance with recovery, strength with mindfulness, and individuality with community. The Outtrain ethos continues to expand through initiatives like Outrunners, the community’s run club, and collaborations with local businesses and brands that champion community and active living. Together, these partnerships strengthen the fabric of the Outtrain community, helping it grow while staying true to its roots: functional fitness, done with connection, and purpose.
